Hello World: An Introduction

This is my first ever post on my blog. While I still have the halo atop of my head, I’d like to introduce you to me and the plans I have with the blog.

New phone, who dis?

I am Roy, a blind Texan who has recently picked up computer programming - and I don’t think I am dropping it “till death do us part.” But more on that later.

Something which I have only realized within the last year, I really enjoy music. I went as far as even purchasing my first instrument, a flute! The type is a Western concert. The primary reason behind the purchase surprisingly is not about music at all. It is because of Carl Marx.

During my first year of university, I took a creative writing class. One of the assignments we were given was to research several poems and analyze them. I knew Carl Marx had written some poetry, but that is about it. So I decided to sifth through the Marxists internet archives, and began a small deteur.

I had learned that Carl Marx played the violin to relief some of his stresses. I thought that was brilliant and a style of living which someday I could enjoy too. (footnote: No research points to Carl Marx being able to play an instrument. I should probably not tell anyone this story anymore :-(). I wonder how this idea formed in my head after all these years.)

The last thing I would like to share about myself is food! I could probably survive off of tian-suan-ji (sweet and sour chicken) for all my days on this Earth. A side of fried rice and a diet coke - consider me in heaven. For those who live or are traveling to Austin, Texas, I highly recommend Bamboo house. The best Chinese food for your buck!

Why am I blogging?

I truly hope my writing can help someone out there, looking for some specific information. To be able to contribute to the spread of information to iincrease knowledge is a great feeling.

Additionally, writing is proven to help retain information. The act of organizing clusters of ideas to a logical sequence from start to finish is cognitively powerful. It is no wonder the tech side of the internet is littered with them.

What to expect from this blog?

I will provide all things programming related. I still am fairly new to the field and thus the current status will be geared towards less experienced developers. But hopefully I can still provide nuggets to the more experienced developers every now and again.

• I will write reviews on books, courses, platforms, and other writing mediums. One such example is the Khan academy compsci courses. I would like to go through their catalog and review as much compsci as possible.

• I will write walkthroughs on languages and frameworks.
